Brad Pitt has ‘awkward’ run-in with Angelina Jolie’s dad and brother amid contentious custody battle

Brad Pitt reportedly had an unexpected run-in with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie’s family.

The actor recently attended the Gagosian Gallery opening in Beverly Hills for an exhibition by his “Moneyball” director, Bennett Miller — as did Jolie’s father, Jon Voight, and brother, James Haven.

“Plenty of people noticed how awkward it was that Brad was in the same room as [Angelina’s] family, and it’s not a big space,” an eyewitness told the US Sun Tuesday.

“I’m told James was amicable and acknowledged Brad, but I didn’t see them talking,” the spy continued. “They were mostly stood apart for the duration of the event, speaking with friends.”

The source added that those in attendance whispered about the run-in, and it’s believed Pitt was unaware his former in-laws would be there.

The Oscar winner, 60, was accompanied by his girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, both of whom were reportedly “polite and acknowledged” Voight, 85, and Haven, 50.

Pitt looked stylish in a brown leather jacket with a fuzzy collar, which he wore atop a polo shirt, denim jeans and suede boots.

Meanwhile, the jewelry designer, 31, opted for a white tank top beneath a beige cardigan, which she paired with black leather pants and matching boots.

Also at the intimate affair was Britney Spears’ ex-husband Sam Asghari, who made sure to post a photo he took with Pitt at the gathering.

The eyewitness said Asghari “went up and asked for a selfie with Brad, mentioning how much the singer loved him.”

The fitness trainer, 29, “then switched sides and went over and was seen chatting to James and Jon for a while,” according to the spy.

Pitt and de Ramon, who was previously married to “Vampire Diaries” star Paul Wesley, were first linked romantically in November 2022.

The couple went on to make their red carpet debut a year later.

“This is Brad’s first proper relationship since the divorce. He introduces [de Ramon] as his girlfriend,” an insider told People in November 2023.

“It’s great to see him in a good place,” the informant added, noting that de Ramon makes Pitt “very happy.”

Jolie, 48, filed for divorce from the “Babylon” star in September 2016. Though they have been legally single since March 2019, their contentious custody battle rages on.

The exes are parents to six children — Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 17, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15 — from whom Pitt seems to be estranged.

Zahara dropped Pitt from her last name at her college sorority’s induction ceremony in November 2023; Pax reportedly referred to his dad as a “world class a–hole” and “f–king awful human being” in a Father’s Day 2020 rant.

The “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood” star has not been pictured publicly with his kids since the split, which was preceded by an alleged booze-fueled physical altercation on a private plane.

Though the actor denied abusing his family, he did admit to seeking help for a drinking problem.

Voight told the US Sun in April 2021 that his former son-in-law “has had some difficulties with alcohol.”

“I hope that he takes care of things, and I pray for the guy,” the “Midnight Cowboy” star added at the time. “The kids are coping as best they can.”

As for Haven, he recently revealed that he uprooted his life to be more present for his sister’s brood.

“It started with the protection of her and her children — my nieces and nephews,” the “Monster’s Ball” star said on the “90who10” podcast earlier this month.

“I set my life up so I can be present with whatever the situation,” he continued. “I want to be there for them or for her, whatever she’s going through.”
