Brooke Shields’ daughter Grier Henchy, 17, wears mom’s dress from the year she was born

Grier Henchy is continuing to shop her mom’s closet.

The 17-year-old joined mother Brooke Shields on the CNN Heroes 2023 red carpet over the weekend, and borrowed one of her vintage gowns for the occasion.

Grier looked gorgeous in a black strapless Richard Tyler gown her mom originally wore in 2006 at the Carousel of Hope Ball in Beverly Hills, just six months after her younger daughter was born.

Brooke, 58, coordinated with her lookalike in a sparkling black Ralph Lauren slip dress styled with a matching double-breasted overcoat.

Other stars in attendance at the event at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC included Joe Manganiello, Edie Falco, Rachel Zegler and Amanda Seyfried.

Grier has a penchant for stealing her mom’s clothes; in September, she stunned in a gold metallic gown even older than she is to support Shields’ one-woman show opening at Café Carlyle.

The show — appropriately titled “Previously Owned by Brooke Shields” — includes plenty of stories about celebrities ranging from Michael Jackson to Elizabeth Taylor.

And while Grier certainly seems to be following in her mom’s fashionable footsteps, the “Pretty Baby” star revealed earlier this summer that she was not keen on her youngest entering the modeling industry.

“I fought it for so long,” she said of her daughter’s decision. “It’s such a different industry now than it was.”

“‘You are going to have a great work ethic, it’s not going to be comfortable, and you’re going to listen to me, those are my rules,’” Shields said she told her daughter, adding college was another requirement.

We’ll see if Henchy takes her mom’s clothing to whatever university she may attend in the future before hitting the catwalk.
