Jenna Lyons talks Valentine’s Day gifts and advice: ‘Scrub up, lube up’

For style icon Jenna Lyons, fashion is a labor of love.

But on Valentine’s Day, her secrets to dressing for success go beyond (or rather, beneath) designer labels and top-notch tailoring.

“What’s underneath is most important,” the designer and founder and CEO of LoveSeen tells Page Six Style.

“Scrub up, lube up and smell good; that’s all that matters.”

Thanks to Lyons, her “RHONY” cast mates will have plenty of anything-but-underwhelming underthings should they choose to follow her advice.

This year, she’s giving out “lingerie from Fleur du Mal [to] everyone, especially Jessel [Taank]” — who famously said her last lacy present from Lyons gave off “Grinch vibes” and made her look like a “Christmas tree.”

When it comes to romantic gifts, however, one of Lyons’ present picks is even more evergreen than tannenbaum-colored lace: matching tattoos, as “nothing says love more than a permanent gesture.”

It’s not the only smooch-worthy surprise up Lyons’ sleeve; she tells us diamonds are another “surefire way to get a kiss.” (She’s previously worn dazzling designs from the likes of John Hardy and Mejuri, even collaborating with the latter company.)

Also among her selections for the loved-up holiday? A night at the Aman sans kids, pets and “interruptions” — along with a custom shirt from Ascot Chang, as “bespoke is better than basic.”

And V-Day roses are off the table for Lyons, whose go-to flower arrangements are instead made with Japanese ranunculus — “no roses, carnations or baby’s breath allowed.”

Not every great gift comes with a hefty price tag, though; she tells us her “best” Valentine’s Day present ever was when “my partner arranged a babysitter and surprised me with dinner.”

After all, at the end of the day, it’s all about finding what feels right — whether you’re picking a gift or donning a date-night outfit.

“There’s nothing more unattractive than someone wincing in heels,” she shares, offering advice for the latter. “Wear the thing that makes you feel in your body.”
