Friends forever.
Forget beaded bracelets or cutesy keychains — Kaia Gerber and Ayo Edebiri are celebrating their friendship with some permanent ink.
Speaking with E! News on Thursday at the premiere of her Apple TV+ series, Palm Royale, Gerber, 22, revealed that she and her “Bottoms” costar recently went to get matching tattoos.
According to the model, the decision was made after Edebiri, 28, hosted “Saturday Night Live” on Feb. 3.
“The next day I thought she would just stay in bed and kind of relax after what I know is a very intense week,” said Gerber, who had attended the show in support of her friend. “But she was like, ‘We’re getting tattoos.’”
While Gerber didn’t say what, exactly, the two chose as their design, she did add that she’s usually down to follow Edebiri’s lead.
“Whatever she says, I do,” she admitted.
The brunette beauty has quite the collection of body art, having gotten her first tattoo — her middle name, “Jordan,” which appears on her inner bicep — in 2018.
Since then, she’s continued to add to the lineup, often showing off a winged angel on her ribs and a Picasso painting on her inner arm. She also admitted to giving herself a stick and poke tattoo while quarantining during the pandemic.
And the model also isn’t a stranger to friendship tattoos.
She and Cara Delevingne have the punny word “solemates” written on their feet, and in 2021, the 22-year-old admitted to have multiple matching tattoos with another one of her besties, singer Charlotte Lawrence, which included a drawing of a mermaid with a glass of wine.
“We also have tattoos of each other’s boobs,” she told Vogue in an interview.
Back in 2020, Gerber also told Glamour that it would be “hard to pick a favorite” when it came to all her ink.
“I think I was so worried I was going to regret every tattoo I got, and they all represent such an important time in my life, even if the tattoo itself doesn’t have much importance,” she said to the publication the time. “It’s like they’re all memories, so I don’t feel like I could ever see myself regretting them.”
Still, it seems the daughter of Cindy Crawford did end up regretting one of her designs. While walking the red carpet at the InStyle Awards a year later, she appeared to be in the process of removing a heart tattoo on her shoulder.
Here’s hoping Gerber and Edebiri stay friends forever!
