Meghan Markle appears in ‘cringey’ coffee ad as ‘slightly nerdy’ intern: ‘What a fall from grace’

It’s a classic roast.

Meghan Markle was dragged for acting in an Instagram advertisement for coffee company Clevr Blends.

The “Suits” alum, 42, portrayed a hard-working intern in each scene of Tuesday’s video as the beverage brand’s CEO, Hannah Mendoza, gave a “tour” of their headquarters.

“I want to give a huge shoutout to our amazing Clevr team here at HQ. Without them, we are nothing,” Mendoza began.

She walked past Markle “lovingly packing … lattes” with the “fulfillment crew,” joking, “They’ve been listening to Britney [Spears] on loop since 2002.”

Mendoza subsequently spoke from her desk as the Duchess of Sussex typed away on a computer in the background.

“[Here is] our very smart, only slightly nerdy digital team, making sure the website doesn’t crash again like it did last year,” Mendoza said.

She played many roles, including a “slightly nerdy” intern.

The Clevr co-founder proceeded to walk through the office as Prince Harry’s wife handed her a cup of the brand’s coffee.

“Finally, the glue that literally holds us all together,” Mendoza said. “Our incredible, resilient ops team that have helped make 2023 such a big success.”

A very busy-looking Markle strolled by and attempted to fist-bump an employee while clutching a folder and holding a phone to her ear. When she fumbled the gesture, she cackled and walked off camera.

She completed several office tasks in the clip.

Several Instagram users flooded the comments section to throw shade at Markle for acting in a coffee ad three years after resigning from her royal duties.

“Guess this is her doing her 1 hour a week of work. From representing the late Queen to a packer,” one hater wrote. “How the mighty have fallen. Love it 🤣🤣🤣.”

Another added, “Haha the Duchass [sic] of Instagram, what a fall from grace.”

Critics dragged Markle’s cameo as “cringey” and “desperate.”
Others, however, praised the “Suits” alum’s performance.

Other trolls called the cameo “desperate” and “cringey,” while one disappointed critic wrote, “From palace to this 🤦🏻‍♀️.”

Some, however, found Markle entertaining and applauded her for getting back to acting “where she belongs.”

One fan gushed, “The glue that keeps it all together 😍😍😍 I’ve been glued to her since 2011 in her Suits days ♥️.”

Markle and Prince Harry quit the royal family in 2020.

Another pointed out the “mighty familiar” worker, with a third writing, “Your HR department is doing a bang up job spotting talent! 😂”

One follower agreed, “The new hire deserves a raise and bonus and benefits. She is a multitasking Queen. Clearly.”

“Three years ago, everything changed,” Mendoza said in a video showing Markle sipping on the product. “None other than Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, had started drinking our lattes.

“Not only did she love the product, but she was extremely passionate about supporting female founders, our sustainable sourcing and our food justice giveback,” she continued at the time. “Meghan ended up becoming our first investor, adviser and biggest Clevr advocate.”

Markle’s ad for the brand comes amid rumors she is “strategizing” a Hollywood comeback.

As Page Six previously reported, she signed on with WME in April and also launched an Instagram account in August.

She and the Duke of Sussex, 39, have been living in Montecito, Calif., with their two kids — Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2 — since leaving their royal posts in 2020 and have had a tense relationship with his family members ever since.

While King Charles III and his son are reportedly looking to make amends, Harry is still on the outs with his brother, Prince William.
