Meghan Markle has landed a new podcast deal eight months after parting ways with Spotify.
According to Deadline, the Duchess of Sussex will now be working with Lemonada Media to release a new podcast series while also giving listeners access to her previous Spotify podcast, “Archetypes.”
The mom of two further confirmed the news to the outlet, saying in a statement, “I’m proud to now be able to share that I am joining the brilliant team at Lemonada to continue my love of podcasting.
“Being able to support a female founded company with a roster of thought provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a fantastic way to kick off 2024.
“Our plan to re-release Archetypes so that more people can now have access to it, as well as launching a dynamic new podcast are well in the works. I’m so eager to be able to share it soon, and am overjoyed to be joining the Lemonada family.”
However, no further details about the podcast have been released.
Lemonada Media was founded in 2019 by Jessica Cordova Kramer and Stephanie Wittels Wachs and is behind podcasts like “Wiser Than Me with Julia Louis-Dreyfus” and “Hard Feelings with Jennette McCurdy.”
Kramer also spoke out about the move, telling the outlet, “We are beyond honored that Meghan has trusted us to help democratize access to Archetypes, and that so many more people around the world will have access to the series soon.
More must-see royals coverage:
“Meghan’s talent as host, creator and conversationalist is unparalleled and we are thrilled to co-create a new series with her that fosters her approach to creating art that matters.”
Wachs also added, “As we’ve started development with The Duchess of Sussex, we are blown away by her collaborative spirit and clear vision, along with her deep desire to build compassion and community through this work. The Lemonada team felt immediate kinship with Meghan and the Archewell Productions team, and we are delighted to be working together.”
The news comes after Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, parted ways with Spotify in 2023.
Sources previously told Page Six that the series was cut short because the “Suits” alum failed to deliver enough content to warrant their pricey $20 million deal.
Both Spotify and Archewell said in a joint statement that they “mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together.”
“Archetypes” was a series that explored labels placed on women, with Markle interviewing celebs including Mindy Kaling, Margaret Cho, Serena Williams, Paris Hilton and Jenny Slate.
Only 12 episodes streamed before the show was halted.
In an interview last year, the CEO of Spotify seemed to imply that Markle’s show didn’t bring consumers joy.
